A Man Called Hawken – A Tale of Western Horror

In A Man Called Hawken, Kitchell Hawken is a scout, bounty hunter, killer-for-hire: he is alot of things – most of them bad. He was scalped, tortured, and left for dead by the secretive order called The Ring. Hawken is seeking vengeance… as he is haunted by the ghosts of everyone he has killed. Literally.

A Man Called HawkenRelentless rage carries Hawken from town to town as he shoots, stabs and burns his malefactors, always with no remorse. But Hawken is stalked by another lethal killer; Sombre, a psychotic cutthroat sent by The Ring to murder him. Previously Hawken taught Sombre everything he knows, and now the student seeks to butcher the teacher as the two engage in a competition of carnage on the way to their inevitable meeting. As Hawken kills his enemies, they join the posse of spirits that follow his every move. Needless to say, this group becomes a small mob, kibitzing together as Hawken wades through the blood of the casualties of his vendetta.

A Man Called Hawken is Tim Truman’s return to the Weird West as he teams with his son, writer Ben Truman, on this grim and violent tale of a grim and violent man. The black and white artwork and explosive storytelling are top notch, but if Hollywood were to call,  A Man Called Hawken may be destined to join Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian as the story that cannot be filmed.
